Of Missonery Lizards and Drunkerds: My Thoughts on Noah and The Flood
I just started rereading The whole Bible from The beginning I just got done reading the story of The Flood and Noah. It got me thinking about God's justice and mercy in relation to man and Noah in particular. There is a debate among many Christian scholars about whether the Noahic Flood was an local event or an worldwide cataclysm. I favour the view of the flood being a worldwide flood but there are many other good and Godly men who would disagree with me on this and hold to a local flood view. I can agree to disagree with them even though I feel this is not an essential belief though I feel it is crucial to an better understanding of God and His personage. The story of the flood shows two major things the wrath of God against sin and His undeserved mercy to His Elect. This story starts out with mentioning the sons of God who impregnate the daughters of men who subsequently give birth to a race of Giants. These sons of god are I feel fallen angels who driven by Satanic lust impregnate human women. Who subsequently give birth to there monstrous offspring this along with the growing moral decay of society as evidenced in Chapter 6:5. Causes The Lord to pour out His just wrath on this evil race of men and the freakish demon offspring of the daughters of men and the fallen angels. But even in this dark horrible time God draws out an people those people are and his family only eight people altogether out of the entire world. Think about that this was only a few generations separated from Adam and Yahweh is all ready going to completely sweep the earth clean because of the sinful wickedness of mankind. So comes the flood and death and destruction ensue. If you have ever seen the fossils of Dinosaurs you are looking at an fossilised record of man's sinfulness those fossils like the dry bones in the Book of Ezekiel cry out these bones of dinosaurs and other creatures cry out "Repent turn from your sin and flee the wrath to come!!" But then after this wrath comes God's mercy "God is not an sentimentalist" if I may quote Ernest Resinger. God even says in verse 21 of Chapter 8 I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done(NASB). So here is The Lord He has poured out His wrath justly on sinful man and even knowing the intents of His heart are wicked and Hell deserving from birth The Lord still covenants with Noah to never destroy man by Flood. But wait there's more... After God makes This covenant with Noah Noah becomes a farmer and plants a vineyard and proceeds to become so drunk that he passes out naked in his tent and his son Ham disrespectfully looks upon His Father's nudity. While Noah's other two sons Shem and Japheth cover there father's nakedness. There are some people who come up with some pretty weired theories about what exactly Ham did most of those theories are either absurd or perverse I had an friend who was unsaved but claimed Christ who believed Ham somehow sexually abused Noah while Noah was drunk and naked. The text does not warrant this interpretation it is an modernest creation invented to sully the Word Of God. I feel the real story here is God's mercy towards Noah God could have very well struck Noah dead and started over with Sehm but He did not and even Ham was extended mercy it is true The Africans are the descendnts of Ham but the curse of Ham is notblack Skin it is not even an curse on Ham realy. It is an curse on Cannan and this curse was fufiflled when Isreal conqoured The Canninites there is no refernce to Africans at all this curse can not be used to prop up Racism it just is not there in the text. So I call on any and all to flee from Sin for Sin is the sting of death it is what nailed Christ to the bitter tree and caused The Wrath of an Holy God to be poured out on the only sinless person who ever lived that is The God Man Jesus Christ so friend if you have not repented and trusted in Christ run to the Cross and do not procrastinate the day of Salvation becuse tommrow is not prommised there is forgivness for you no mater how black a sinner you may be. Socometo Christ and Repent while there is still time.
